Coco Lee was a Chinese-American singer, songwriter and actress widely regarded as a significant figure and a Tianhou in C-pop. Her career modernized C-pop music and influenced other artists. She released 18 studio albums, two live albums, and five compilation albums. Known as the 'Asian Mariah Carey', she was the first Chinese singer to break into the American market and had international success with her English single 'Do You Want My Love'. She was a trailblazer in the entertainment industry, being the first Chinese performer at the Academy Awards and the first Chinese-American singer to sing at an NBA game.
