Kevin Kwan, born in Singapore, is a Singaporean-American novelist renowned for the bestselling "Crazy Rich Asians" trilogy. The trilogy achieved an unprecedented feat, commanding the top three positions on the New York Times bestseller list simultaneously. Kwan's latest novel, "Sex and Vanity," released in June 2020, also became a New York Times bestseller and is being adapted into a film by Sony Pictures. Recognized by Time Magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential People, Kwan was born into a prominent Chinese Singaporean family. He moved to the U.S. at 11, studied at Clear Lake High School in Texas, and pursued degrees at the University of Houston-Clear Lake and Parsons School of Design. Kwan worked for renowned publications and design firms before establishing his creative studio. In 2018, Singapore's Ministry of Defence announced Kwan's wanted status for defaulting on National Service obligations.
