Born in Longview, Texas, to Chinese immigrants, she moved to Southern California to pursue acting. Hu began her career as a child actress, landing notable roles in Disney series like "Best Friends Whenever" and "Bizaardvark," where she played the lead character, Frankie Wong. She expanded her career with roles in films like "Voyagers," "Night Shift," and "The Boogeyman." In 2024, she starred as Grace in the American action comedy drama series "The Brothers Sun." Outside of acting, Hu attends Columbia University while maintaining her career. She shares a close friendship with Olivia Rodrigo, with whom she initially connected during auditions for "Bizaardvark."
