Mazie Hirono is an American politician and member of the Democratic Party who has served as the senior United States Senator from Hawaii since 2013. Born on November 3, 1947, in Fukushima, Japan, she immigrated to the United States as a child. Hirono earned her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and later entered the world of politics.
