Dr. Russell Jeung is a professor of the Asian American Studies Department at San
Francisco State University. He has been there since 2002, after obtaining his
PhD from UC Berkeley in 2000. Russell is the founder of
[Stop AAPI Hate](https://stopaapihate.org/), a project of
[Chinese for Affirmative Action](https://caasf.org/). Stop AAPI Hate is a non
profit organization that tracked hate crimes against Asian Americans, which
spiked during the COVID-19 pandemic.
